It is estimated that over 100 million American adults suffer from chronic pain. While short-lived pain is a warning signal to stop something that is harmful to the body, long-term pain causes that alarm to keep sounding and produce pain long after the original cause is gone.
Some experts believe that this may be due to issues in the central nervous system of the body. While there are many treatments used for chronic pain, many simply cover up the pain for a short time and then result in the pain returning.
DyAnsys® is proud to offer a pain management treatment that is non-narcotic with minimal side effects called the ANSiscope®/Primary Relief Solution®.
What is Primary Relief®?
The Primary Relief® is a wearable device that is designed to administer continuous pulses of a low-level electrical current through the ear over several days. This is called auricular neurostimulation therapy.
The Primary Relief® is based on cranial electrical stimulation (CES), which has been well researched since the 1950s. Cranial electrical stimulation, combined with auricular therapy, has been shown to reduce the symptoms of chronic pain and depression. The key to this relief is the stimulation and release of endorphins, the body’s natural opiates; these opiates assist with the increase in blood flow to affected tissues, resulting in the reduction of pain symptoms. This unique combination of permanent acupuncture-like needles and electrical stimulation has been shown to significantly reduce pain symptoms.
The Primary Relief® is minimally invasive and has little or no side effects.
Some experts believe that people who experience chronic pain have a malfunction in their nervous system that creates overstimulation of the nerves, and causes the chronic pain symptoms. The Primary Relief works to essentially reprogram the body and reroute the pain signals to alleviate chronic pain.
Opioid Use Disorder
Opioids interact with opioid receptors on nerve cells in the body and brain. As pain relievers, they are considered safe when taken for a short time as prescribed by a doctor. However, they produce a euphoria in addition to pain relief, which can lead to misuse. This includes being taken in a larger quantity than prescribed as well as being taken in a different way. Regular use, even as prescribed, can lead to dependence. When misused, opioid pain relievers can lead to addiction, overdose incidents and deaths.
Opioid addiction is considered a chronic medical condition. The opioids create changes in the brain that foster addiction. Successful treatment involves medication and counseling.
To overcome addiction, patients need to eliminate drugs from system, a process known as detoxification. This process involves a range of symptoms including stomach cramps, muscle aches,
Treatment with Drug Relief® Device
Drug Relief is a percutaneous electrical nerve field stimulator (PNFS). It is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use during detoxification.
The small, battery-operated wearable device is placed behind the ear and held in place with adhesives. Tiny needles are placed in the ear at nerve endings. During treatment, electrical pulses are sent through the needles into the nerve endings. This treatment is referred to as auricular neurostimulation therapy.
The ear is an ideal option because it provides numerous points for stimulation within a small area.
Drug Relief Treatment®
The device is placed on the patient by a health care practitioner as an out-patient procedure. The device offers patients a high degree of comfort and mobility and they can resume most normal activities during treatment.
Drug Relief®is designed to administer nerve field stimulation over five days at a time. It can be used during detoxification to relieve the symptoms of withdrawal. It can be used in conjunction with and sometimes in place of opioid agonist treatment.
Patients may begin to feel relief from symptoms within an hour of beginning treatment.
The device for one-time use and is disposable.

DyAnsys markets an affordable, portable electrocardiogram (ECG) device that makes it possible for the patient to monitor their heart condition at home and then share the information via email or print-out with their physician. If you suffer from a cardiac condition, be sure to speak to your physician about the DyAnsys® ECG device.
Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)
The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) acts as a control system for the body. It functions without a person having to think about it, and controls the internal organs. The ANS affects heart rate, digestion, respiration rate, salivation, perspiration, pupil diameter, urination, and sexual arousal. Most of the actions performed by the ANS are involuntary.
There are two parts, or branches, to the ANS: the sympathetic branch and the parasympathetic branch. Generally, the sympathetic branch takes over more control when you are stressed, ill, or injured, while the parasympathetic branch is more in control when relaxing, sleeping, or recovering from an illness or injury. A balance between the two branches of the ANS is essential for good health. An imbalance in the ANS can tell a doctor many things about how healthy a person is as well as what can be done to keep that person as healthy as possible.
Autonomic nervous system monitoring with the ANSiscope® device is a fast, noninvasive, and simple way to give your doctor information to help him or her determine your true health. Monitoring the ANS frequently – like blood pressure and heart rate – can help a doctor keep that person healthy. Information is collected from an easy, painless measurement that can be done in a doctor’s office or in a hospital with the ANSiscope® device.
